Under this thematic area we address agriculture and climate change to improve food security for women/girls by encouraging farmers to adapt organic farming practices using climate smart technologies.
The project introduced organic farming to over 300 target beneficiaries by working with two Masjids in Vihiga, Kakamega and farmers living along Tana River in Garissa County The communities were capacity built on environmentally friendly organic farming, importance of tree planting, agro-business and water management where over 2000 trees were planted in different schools and mosques The project also established farms for an orphanage in Garissa Impact Farm produce increased by 49% while wastage decreased and there was a shift from chemical to natural fertilizers and pesticides.
