GO-K has worked with communities and other stakeholders in rural areas and informal settlements of Nairobi Kenya to deliver WASH projects to address issues of water borne diseases and lack of menstrual hygiene management.

i) Menstrual Hygiene Project




  • The objective of the project is to intervene on community issues of female hygiene. It has benefitted over 3000 women in Mathare, Lamu, Tana River and Marsabit counties.


  • Besides establishing an IGA in Mathare, the project focused on training women and girls on menstrual hygiene management and provided them with:
    • a) Menstrual cups
    • b) Sanitation and hygiene products


ii) Solar Powered Water Pump




One solar powered borehole was constructed and equipped with solar panels. This projects benefits over 3000 families in 3 villages by increasing access to domestic water supplies.
